When a global caption style changes only some lines, identify the affected group before repeatedly pressing the button. Automatic captions, imported cues and manually added text can be different object types or belong to different groups. A control that targets one caption group should not be assumed to update every visible word in the project.
Build an object inventory
CapCut’s guidance on applying a style to all captions describes scope and edited-segment issues. Its manual text help discusses a different workflow. These are CapCut references, not a guarantee that mainland Jianying uses the same controls. Check the version and the actual objects in your editor.
List the dialogue captions, manually added corrections, opening titles and any imported track. Note which lines came from one recognition run and which were added later. A word that looks like a subtitle may be a normal text layer placed over a caption. Do not delete it before determining its purpose.
Use the current approved style as your reference: font, size, position, color and animation. Record intentional exceptions such as speaker names. Otherwise a legitimate exception can be mistaken for an application failure and overwritten.
Find the scope with a reversible marker
Duplicate the project. Select one automatic caption and change its color to a conspicuous temporary color. Apply that change through the available group control. Move through the complete timeline and record every object that changed. The purpose is diagnosis, not publication of the temporary style.
For a proposed test, use eight recognized dialogue cues and two manually added correction cards. If eight cues change and the two cards remain untouched, the observation establishes a group boundary. It does not establish that the program failed to recognize the wording or that the final export is corrupt.
Download the blank caption style-scope checklist and fill its observations during your own test. Its empty acceptance fields do not claim a completed result.
- Compare changed objects with their creation method and group membership.
- Inspect any split or individually styled caption that stayed behind.
- Restore the approved style through the correct group control.
- Format genuine manual text separately, or duplicate a pre-styled manual card when the editor supports that workflow.
- Review the result at the first line, the last line and every exception listed in the inventory.
Changing several unrelated settings at once hides which operation worked. Keep the test narrow enough that another editor can repeat it.
Close the loop on all visible text
Acceptance requires a count, not a convincing screenshot. In the ten-object example, account for all ten objects: eight automatic cues and two manual cards. Each should either match the approved styling or have a documented exception. Export a short segment containing both types and check the rendered result separately.
This test plan does not claim a measured success rate. Preserve the inventory alongside the handoff so a later correction does not reintroduce an isolated style. Imagild Skills can supply artwork for the sequence; caption group controls remain an external editing operation. If the entire timeline is correct but the render changes its layout, move to an export mismatch investigation instead of repeating the group-scope diagnosis.
