Keyframe controls belong to particular objects and properties. Selecting a media-library item, a compound template or the wrong panel may not expose the control needed to animate a normal timeline clip. Identify the selected object and the property you want to change before concluding that the editor cannot create motion.
Start with the actual timeline selection
CapCut’s desktop keyframe help describes selection and panel issues. It is documentation for CapCut on the described platforms, not evidence of the same menu layout in Jianying. The current property panel and supported object type are the relevant controls.
Add a standard still image to a project copy and select that instance on the timeline. A source file selected in the media bin is not always the editable instance currently playing. If the desired item is part of a group or template, identify whether its individual property can be edited without disrupting other components.
Name the intended property precisely: position, scale, opacity or another parameter. Looking for a generic diamond without identifying the property can lead you to an unrelated control. A keyframe on opacity will not create the position move you intended.
Prove the editing path with two points
Use a four-second photograph as a proposed diagnostic sample. Set a modest first position near the beginning and a second position near the end through the available parameter controls. Keep scale constant so the position change is easy to identify. This is a repeatable test plan, not a report that a specific software version has passed.
- Place the playhead at the first intended time and add the position point.
- Move to the second intended time and set a clearly different position.
- Return to each time and inspect the corresponding saved values.
- Play between them and check whether the image follows the expected change.
- Confirm that you can still select and revise both points.
If no control is available for the chosen object, compare it with the standard still-image test. A difference can indicate object support or editing-level restrictions. Do not ungroup the approved project blindly; keep the copy and check what other elements would be affected.
Separate control availability from motion quality
The test passes when the property has two inspectable time points, the movement is visible and the points remain editable. It does not certify that the motion is elegant or matches a camera reference. Those are later decisions involving interpolation, framing and the intended visual result.
Check the beginning, middle and end for unintended cropping. If the image travels away and returns unexpectedly even though the keyframes exist, inspect the interpolation rather than reopening the panel search. Record the object, property and times in the handoff.
Still artwork from Imagild Skills can be animated in an external editor. These keyframes are editing operations on that artwork; their presence does not demonstrate an AI model’s camera or action-control capability. A clear property map lets another editor reproduce the movement without guessing which diamond belonged to which layer.
