If the instruction is to preserve a prompt and replace only specified placeholders, treat the original text as the authority. A fluent rewrite can silently weaken a requirement, remove a character or turn “keep the original music” into “use similar music.” Define allowed edits before rewriting and compare the result with the original rather than judging its polish.
Preserve a literal original and an edit allowlist
Seedance’s official prompt guide discusses expressing reference dimensions and editing goals. It is a product-specific writing reference, not a guarantee that an assistant will preserve every clause or that any video model can satisfy the brief. The preservation check is a separate editorial control.
Save the original prompt exactly, including its paragraph order and explicit ratio, sound, character and action requirements. Identify allowed replacement spans by their placeholder names and unique surrounding text. If a placeholder occurs twice, define whether both instances are allowed to change. Do not use a broad “improve the prompt” instruction when the accepted scope is narrower.
Keep the replacement description separate from the protected text. A purpose note for a reference may be added only where the approved change scope permits it. Formatting a requirement differently, translating it or adding a stronger-looking adjective is still a change when literal preservation was requested.
Compare ten clauses and two replacement spans
This proposed test uses a prompt with ten requirement clauses and two allowed placeholders. Build a comparison list containing original text, proposed text and an allowed-change decision for each clause. The test is an editorial design, not a claim that any model has followed the result.
- Store the untouched original with a version identifier.
- Mark the two permitted replacement spans precisely.
- Insert the approved image-based descriptions into those spans.
- Compare every protected clause literally and review each remaining difference.
- Return any unauthorized change for correction before submitting generation.
The counts refer to clauses and spans separately; two placeholders do not necessarily occupy two whole clauses. Check duplicates, punctuation and reference labels where those affect the instruction. Preserve “original background music” as that requirement. A similar genre, tempo or mood does not mean the original audio was retained.
Audit submitted text and delivered media separately
The text passes when only allowed spans differ and all protected requirements remain intact. The output passes only after its actual dimensions, duration, character appearance, action and sound satisfy the approved brief. A request receipt verifies submitted instructions, not the generated clip’s performance.
If the original requirement exceeds the external model’s supported capability, state that limitation and seek an explicit scope decision; do not quietly weaken the sentence to make the rewrite appear feasible. Imagild Skills can support visual reference preparation, while the external generation system owns its supported media controls. Keep the original, replacement allowlist, final prompt and output review together so a later failure can be traced to rewriting, attachment mapping or generation behavior.
