PDF comments can be visible in a review application without being included in the printed document. Check the comment-printing mode before recreating the missing notes as artwork. Decide whether the proof is for discussing revisions or for manufacturing the final design. A review copy with markups and an approved production copy serve different purposes.
Identify which text is actually missing
Compare ordinary page text, a form field, a sticky-note annotation and a stamp. These objects can have different output behavior. Open the comment list and locate the exact missing item. Do not assume that every visible word belongs to the page's final content.
Record the PDF version and the intended output. If the recipient needs a clean design, missing review comments may be correct. If the team needs a marked proof, their absence is a failure. Make that purpose explicit before changing any settings.
Use the appropriate print mode
Adobe's comment-printing guidance identifies Comments & Forms choices in Acrobat's Print dialog. Document omits comments, while Document and Markups includes them. The reference also distinguishes stamps and form-only output. These are external Acrobat options, not Imagild export controls.
On a copy, choose the mode appropriate to the review purpose and inspect the print preview. A sticky-note icon may not convey its whole discussion as ordinary visible page text. If a comment summary is needed, use the documented summary workflow and confirm that the text is readable in the resulting output.
A proposed two-copy review
For a hypothetical exhibition card, add a sample text annotation saying “Confirm the venue line” to a working PDF. Prepare a marked proof for reviewers and a clean proof representing the intended final page. Label each copy by purpose so a print operator does not mistake the markup for approved artwork.
Compare the marked copy with a comment list and the clean copy with the approved design. Record comment identifier, page, expected output mode and result. This is a proposed acceptance test, not a claim that any supplier has printed it successfully. A stamp-only mode would not be a substitute for all-markup output when ordinary text annotations matter.
Keep review decisions out of the final artwork
Accept a review proof when the required comments are legible and can be traced to their pages. Accept a production copy only when its approved page content is correct and unintended markups are absent. Reject a workflow that burns unresolved comments into the artwork merely because a print setting was misunderstood.
Resolve each accepted revision in the source layout, then make a fresh final export. Save the review PDF and decision log separately so the approved wording remains auditable. Imagild's Skills can develop the illustration; PDF annotations, review printing and final layout revision are handled externally. Getting the right proof means delivering the right content for the right decision, rather than making everything visible in every output.
