Ask for the exact attachment arrangement
A hole near the top center, a separate tab and a shaped upper corner create different layout constraints. Ask the supplier for hole size, position, edge clearance and the cut boundary. Do not invent engineering values from a photograph of another charm. Material, thickness and hardware type can affect the requirements.
Record which side is the front and how the object will hang. A design that looks upright in a screen mockup may rotate when suspended from an off-center hole. The supplier should assess practical construction; the designer should decide whether that orientation works for the portrait and text.
An illustrative design decision
Fictional concept: a small portrait charm uses an imaginary performer with a star above the head. The supplier proposes an attachment tab in that star. The designer leaves the star free of the name and places the face lower in the silhouette. This is a layout example, not a tested product or a structural recommendation.
The star may serve as a visual transition between portrait and attachment area, but it does not establish that a narrow connection is strong enough. If the supplier rejects the shape, widen or simplify the silhouette according to their guidance instead of using a more realistic AI mockup to argue that it must work.

A generated ring or chain painted into the image should not be mistaken for physical hardware. If the artwork includes a fake metal loop, the manufactured item may contain both the printed loop and the actual loop. Remove the illustration when the production brief calls for clean flat art.

Approve a real production proof
Ask the supplier to confirm the final silhouette, attachment and artwork alignment. If they provide a sample, inspect how the object hangs and whether hardware obscures any important detail. A photorealistic generated product scene is a concept presentation, not evidence of strength, print quality or safe construction.
Keep the approved production file and the supplier's current template together. A later reorder may use different hardware or material, so check the specification again instead of assuming the old mockup still applies.
Can the AI choose the hole position automatically?
It can draw a plausible concept, but that position is not a verified manufacturing instruction. Use the supplier's requirements and have the actual production layout checked.
Should I regenerate the face if the hole overlaps it?
Often you can move or recompose the approved artwork externally. Regenerate only if the creative composition itself cannot provide the necessary space, and review identity again afterward.
